Fees and billing
Motus is a Privatpraxis. We invoice you directly, whatever your insurance. Every fee below is the fee for one appointment, and an appointment is sixty minutes.

Fees include statutory VAT where it applies. Therapeutic treatment by a physiotherapist is exempt from VAT under section 4 no. 14 (a) of the German VAT Act (UStG).
AppointmentsReimbursement
Private, Beihilfe, self-payer
- Privately insured
- You receive our invoice by email after the appointment and submit it to your insurer yourself. Whether and how much is reimbursed depends on your policy — many tariffs cap physiotherapy per year or per session, and most require an ärztliche Verordnung. We cannot confirm what your insurer will pay, and we cannot make the arrangement for you. If it matters, ask your insurer for a Kostenzusage before the first appointment.
- Beihilfe
- Beihilfe reimburses physiotherapy up to the maximum rates set in the Beihilfevorschriften that apply to your Dienstherr, and normally requires a prescription. Our fees may be higher than those maximum rates; any difference is yours to pay. We will state the treatment and the duration on the invoice in the form Beihilfe offices expect.
- Statutory insurance and self-payers
- We hold no contract with the statutory health insurance funds (keine Kassenzulassung). If you are gesetzlich versichert you are welcome here, but you pay the fees on this page yourself and your fund will not reimburse them; a statutory prescription cannot be redeemed with us. You do not need any prescription to come as a self-payer.
The small print
- Payment
- The invoice comes by email within two working days and is payable within fourteen days by bank transfer. We do not take card payments in the practice. Packages are invoiced before the first appointment of the package.
- Cancellation
- Please cancel or move an appointment at least 24 hours in advance, by telephone, email or the contact form. Inside 24 hours we charge the full fee, because an hour cannot be filled at short notice. If you are acutely unwell or something serious has happened, tell us and we will waive it.
- Being late
- The hour ends when it was going to end, whenever it starts. The following hour belongs to somebody else.
- Home visits
- Home visits are available within the Dresden city boundary, on Wednesdays and Fridays, and are usually arranged by telephone rather than through the calendar.
Questions
Asked often
- Why can I not book a shorter, cheaper appointment?
- Because there is no shorter appointment to book. The practice runs one room in whole hours, and the calendar is built from those hours; there is no half-hour or twenty-minute block behind a setting somewhere. If an hour is more than your complaint needs, that is a good sign and we will end the course of treatment sooner rather than shorten the appointments.
- Do I need a doctor's prescription?
- Not to be treated. Usually yes to be reimbursed: most private insurers and all Beihilfe offices ask for an ärztliche Verordnung. Without one you are very welcome as a self-payer.
- I am gesetzlich versichert. Can I come?
- Yes, as a self-payer. You pay the fees on this page yourself and your statutory fund will not reimburse them, because we hold no contract with the funds. A statutory prescription cannot be redeemed here.
- Will my private insurance pay the whole fee?
- We cannot say. It depends on your tariff, on any annual limits and on whether a prescription was issued. Ask your insurer for written confirmation before the first appointment if the amount matters to you.
- How many appointments will I need?
- We will not answer that at the first appointment, because an honest answer needs to see how you respond to the first two or three. Most musculoskeletal courses of treatment here run between four and eight appointments; persistent pain usually runs longer and more slowly.
- Can I be treated at home?
- Yes, within Dresden, on Wednesdays and Fridays, for €190 per sixty-minute visit including travel. Please arrange home visits by telephone so we can check the address and what is available in the room we will work in.
