MOTUSPrivatpraxis

Private physiotherapy practice · Innere Neustadt, Dresden

Sixty minutes. One therapist. Your body.

Motus is a private practice with a single treatment room. Every appointment lasts sixty minutes, with one therapist who stays with you from the first assessment to the last session. The calendar further down this page offers nothing else. There is no twenty-minute slot to book, because none exists.

The treatment room at Motus: a treatment table with folded grey linen on a pale oak floor, a linen curtain at the tall window and a low brass lamp.

The promise

What an hour is for

Sixty minutes
An hour is long enough to take a history, examine you, treat, and then show you what to do until we meet again. Twenty minutes is long enough for one of those four. We chose not to run a practice that has to pick one.
One therapist
The person who assesses you is the person who treats you, for as long as you come here. Nobody hands you on halfway through, and nobody is treating two other patients in the same hour on the other side of a curtain.
Your body
We start from what we find on the day, not from a code on a prescription. What happens in the hour depends on the examination and on what you tell us has changed since the last one.

Plainly

Why there are no shorter appointments

Physiotherapy in Germany is largely organised in fifteen- and twenty-minute units, because that is the length statutory reimbursement is built around. Motus is not part of that system. We hold no contract with the statutory funds, we bill you directly, and that is the entire reason we can hold the hour open. It also means you pay for it yourself. Whether that is worth it is a decision only you can make, and the fees are published in full before you book.

What we work with

Four things we spend the hour on

Assessment and manual therapy
A physical examination of joints, muscle and nerve tissue, with graded hands-on techniques where the finding suggests they will help.
Loading and exercise
A small programme you can realistically do, progressed against what you managed at the last appointment.
After an operation
Rehabilitation to the protocol your surgeon has set, at the pace the operated tissue allows.
Persistent complaints
Pain lasting longer than three months, worked with through graded activity and a realistic pace rather than promises.

Appointments

The calendar only knows one length

Choose a day, then an hour. Every block below runs for a full sixty minutes; the calendar cannot produce a shorter one, and the form has no field in which to ask for one. Sending the form makes a request — we confirm it by telephone or email within one working day, and nothing is charged until you have been treated.

What the calendar cannot do

It cannot offer a half-hour. It cannot offer twenty minutes. It cannot split an hour between two people. Those are not settings we have turned off — an appointment here is described by a date and a whole hour, and there is nothing else to describe it with.

A tall window with a half-drawn unbleached linen curtain, afternoon light on the pale oak floor of the practice.

The practice

One room, one hour at a time

A ground-floor room on the Hoyerswerdaer Strasse: an oak floor, a linen curtain, a low warm lamp and a treatment table. Nothing else is happening in it while you are here. The door is closed, the telephone is not answered, and the hour is yours until it ends.

Medical disclaimer

What this website is not

The information on this website is general and describes how we work. It is not a diagnosis, not a treatment recommendation for your particular case, and no substitute for examination by a doctor or a physiotherapist. Physiotherapists in Germany do not diagnose medical conditions. We make no promise about the outcome of treatment; what an hour can achieve depends on the finding, on the tissue and on the person.

In an emergency — sudden severe pain, loss of strength or sensation, chest pain, or after a serious fall — call 112 or the medical on-call service on 116 117. Do not wait for a physiotherapy appointment.
